OUR WHY

The Equity Process' Why:

Ubuntu, the Zulu word for HUMANITY, and its principles will sustain us during our most celebrated and challenging times while we journey together. Here at The Equity Process, we believe in Umoja and Ujima/Ujamaa, the Swahili words for Unity, Collective Work, and Responsibility! These two principles center our work. We aim to create awareness and disrupt unkind, uncompassionate and biased practices and policies that create inequities in common spaces. We are here because we believe in your community and you do, too!
When one fails, we all fail. We believe that we can do this together. We want to support you in building your resiliency muscle through aligned practices. We want to get you to the place where your table is represented by a diverse group of stakeholders. Let us guide and support you as you bring your community closer to its goal of authenticity and cultural inclusivity.

OUR MISSION

Mission Statement:
Through social and academic discourse, coaching, leadership and the implementation of research and evidence-based practices, our mission is to create a symbiotic relationship between equity and cultural inclusivity in all communities that we serve.

We focus on incorporating systems and structures that allow our clients to foster positive relations and relationships with people of all races, cultures, ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, (dis)abilities, genders, and sexual orientations to create learning environments wherein all people feel valued and welcomed. Equity is not simply about access. It is also about honoring and celebrating each other as humans in the most compassionate, mindful, and humble ways.

OUR VISION

The Equity Process Youth Centered-Vision:
To foster a positive and thriving school community grounded in compassion and mindfulness for ALL; while centering students who continue to be marginalized because of the color of their skin, heritage, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, religion, gender, (dis)ability/(dis)abilities, age, and all intersections.

The Equity Process' Professional Workplace Vision:
To create professional working spaces that allow members from marginalized communities to thrive and contribute their gifts and talents in an authentic way aligned to the organization's mission, vision, and values through compassion, mindfulness, and culturally inclusive practices. If the mission, vision, and values of our client's organization fosters systemic racism we will offer processes that support the goals of building an inclusive organization, by unpacking and re-envisioning its professional communities in a fully inclusive way.

ABOUT US

The Equity Process, LCC is a boutique organization that serves to better society and create a more compassionate world. It was founded by Cyndi Weekes Bradley in 2015 in response to the inequities she and her close ones endured and observed in school communities. As a school leader often found herself caught up in the misalignment between what she believed school should be and what it was. Cyndi conferenced with her intimate circle of educators of color as she vetted her ideas and innovations to reshape schools across America due to a lack of school reform and politics; in the most authentic way possible while centering humanity. She found that politics in public spaces like school often got in the way of education and serving other people’s children with fidelity.
As a result of her tenacity, training and the Pandemic, Cyndi incorporated The Equity Process, LLC in 2021. She later quit her job as an educator and enlisted her fellow educator friends to support the efforts on ensuring that TEP will enhance school cultures through coaching senior and school-based leaders, offer staff high quality professional development, support diversity hiring and measure the impact and outcomes of TEP’s systems on behalf of students and families.
