OUR WHY

The Equity Process' Why:

At The Equity Process, we are grounded in Ubuntu, the Zulu philosophy that reminds us of our shared humanity. Ubuntu sustains us in moments of both celebration and challenge. It is the heartbeat of our work.

We are guided by the principles of Umoja (Unity) and Ujima/Ujamaa (Collective Work and Responsibility), Swahili values that center collaboration, shared purpose, and community care. These principles are not just aspirational. They are foundational to how we partner with districts, organizations, and communities.
We exist to raise awareness and actively disrupt unkind, uncompassionate, and biased practices and policies that lead to inequity in our shared spaces. We believe in your community because you do. When one of us fails, we all do. But when we come together with intention, we can build lasting change.

Our goal is to strengthen your community’s resiliency muscle through aligned and equity-centered practices. We want to help you build a table that reflects the full diversity of your stakeholders. This is how authenticity and cultural inclusivity move from vision to reality.

Let us walk with you. Together, we can create the conditions for transformational change.

OUR MISSION

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to support schools and educational systems in cultivating equity and cultural inclusivity through leadership development, coaching, collaborative discourse, and the integration of research-based and evidence-informed practices.

We partner with districts to design and strengthen systems that promote inclusive, affirming, and equitable environments for students, educators, families, and community members of all races, cultures, ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations. Our work helps foster school climates where every individual is seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.

We believe equity in education is not only about access or achievement. It is about honoring the humanity of each person with compassion, intentionality, and humility. When educational spaces reflect these values, students and communities flourish.

OUR VISION

The Equity Process Youth Centered-Vision:

The Equity Process envisions school communities where all students feel safe, seen, and supported. Our vision is to foster positive and thriving educational environments rooted in compassion, mindfulness, and a deep sense of belonging for every learner.

We intentionally center the voices and lived experiences of students who continue to face marginalization because of their race, heritage, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, religion, gender, disability, age, or any combination of these identities.

We believe that when schools uplift and affirm those who have been most overlooked, the entire community grows stronger.

The Equity Process' Professional Workplace Vision:

The Equity Process is committed to creating professional environments where individuals from historically marginalized communities are empowered to thrive, contribute their strengths, and lead with authenticity. We support organizations in aligning their workplace culture with their mission, vision, and values through compassion, mindfulness, and culturally inclusive practices.

When a client’s current systems or values uphold exclusionary practices or reinforce systemic racism, we offer thoughtful and transformative processes to help reimagine their professional communities. Our goal is to support the development of truly inclusive workplaces where equity is not only stated but lived every day.

ABOUT US

The Equity Process, LLC is a boutique organization dedicated to building a more compassionate and just world. Founded by Cyndi Weekes Bradley in 2015, the organization emerged from a deep commitment to confronting the inequities she and those close to her experienced within school communities.

As a school leader, Cyndi often found herself grappling with the disconnect between what schools should be and what they were in practice. Through ongoing dialogue with a trusted circle of educators of color, she refined her vision to reimagine educational spaces across the country—placing humanity at the center of school reform efforts.
Recognizing that systemic barriers and political dynamics often undermined efforts to serve students with integrity, Cyndi made the courageous decision to leave her position in education. In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, she officially incorporated The Equity Process, LLC and assembled a team of experienced educators who shared her vision.

Today, The Equity Process supports school systems by coaching senior and school-based leaders, delivering high-quality professional development, facilitating executive searches that prioritize diverse and highly qualified candidates, advancing equity-focused hiring practices, and helping schools build and assess inclusive systems that improve outcomes for students and families.
